Mesopotamia
Location: The author wrote that at first there was no name for the region, but later the Greeks named it Mesopotamia, meaning "between the rivers." Also, we know that "Mesopotamia was the birthplace of writing, as well as many other inventions and discoveries that changed the world." Modern Iraq is where Mesopotamia used to be located. (Steele 6)
Architecture: The author wrote that the last symbol for mesopotamia was the Ziggurat. It states " A lasting symbol of ancient Mesopotamia is the ziggurat. I know that " A ziggurat is Assyrian and means height, or pinnacle.
Religion: The author states that "The Sumerians worshipped many Gods and Goddesses." The author also said that Nanna, Enki, Nintu, Nammu, Ninhursag, Enlil. The Mesopotamians were Polythiestic
Art: The graphic showed that the art of Mesopotamian from pottery to wool and then jewelry. I know because it states "By 3000 BCE metalworkers were mixing tin with the copper to produce the tough alloy called bronze." Malachite was used for jewelry.(Steele)28
Writing: The author wrote that The sumerians devised the world's first script. They told us that "at first they used picture symbols to represent objects such as cattle, grain, or fish." There were about 700 different symbols. (Steele 12)
Government: The government of Mesopotamia was an empire. The author states that " In 1120 BCE their ruler, I founded an eastern empire that reached the eastern mediterranean." The empire was soon brought down. (Steele 40)

Ancient China
Government: On page 16 it says that the government of the Qin was an emperor. It also states that " The Emperor took its name from the Qin to become China." The Qin emperor was harsh and believed his reign on earth was harsh.
Religion: On page 12 it said that Confucius developed a new moral outlook. on page 12 it states "Confucius believed that family relationships should also be governed by mutual respect." (Cotterell 12)
Writing: On page 11 it said that questions and answers were inscribed on the oracle bones. On page 11 it also states " an ox bonne or tortoise shell was scorched until it cracked." The Oracle Bones were used by the Shang kings to consult with ancestors. (Cotterell 11)
Archtitecture/Technology: On page 22 it says, "In time, paper and printing dramatically improved communications; gunpowder changed the way in which battles were fought;a harness for draft animals revolutionized agriculture; and boats equipped with magnetic compass, the sternpost rudder, and watertight buoyancy chambers were able to embark on great voyages." On page 22 it also said, " Other Chinese inventions that made the world a different place were, paper money, clockwork, silk, porcelain, fireworks, kites, umbrellas and the wheel barrow." (Cotterell 22)
Location: On page 6 it said that it was located in China in the Qin empire. On page 6 it also states that "deserts and mountain ranges cut off China from India, west Asia, and Europe." The qin empire was located next to those cultures and countries.
Art: On page 56 it says, " China has always been renowned for its exquisite arts and crafts. Chinese bronze, jade, silk, lacquer and porcelain." On page 56 it also says, " They produced tools for agriculture and weapons for the army as well as luxury items such as decorated tableware and finne silk cloth." (Cotterell 56)
Commerce (Trading): On page 58 it says, "Interventional trade thrived because caravans could travel without danger." On page 58 it also says that, " Chinese merchants amassed large fortunes by exporting luxury goods such as silk, spices, teas, porcelain, and lacquerware." (Cotterell 58)

Religion: In the text it said "The religion of the ancient Aryans, known as Brahmanism, was polytheistic and heavily influenced the later development of Hinduism." It also said "The Vedas are mostly religious texts, but they also described famous victories of the Aryans as they invaded India."
