Mesopotamia
Architecture:A lasting symbol of ancient Mesopotamia is the Ziggurat,a massive terraced platform made of brick.It represented a mountain,stretching from earth to the heavens.The word ziqquratu is Assyrian and means"height".
Art:The Mesopotamians Mastered many technologies and crafts at an early point in their history.They were molding clay into simple pots by the eighth millennium BCE.Some time before 3500 BCE, they invented the potter's wheel,which made pottery production more efficient. (Steele28)
Religion:The Sumerians worshiped many gods and goddesses.They believed that the stars in the night sky were the cows of Sin or Nanna,the horned moon god.Enki,the god of water and wisdom,was thought to live in an underground ocean called Aspu. (Steele14) 
Government:The homeland of the Assyrian people was around the Tigris River,a long way north of Babylon.Their city of Ashur began to grow wealthy from trading with Anatolia as early as 2000 BCE.The Assyrians had few resources and little fertile land of their own,so they set out to conquer other lands.

Writing: Early people who lived as hunters and nomads did not need written records.As the first cities arose,people began to require records of ownership.The Sumerians devised the worlds first script or writing system. !
Location:The author wrote that at first there was no name for the region but later the Greeks named it Mesopotamia.Meaning between the rivers."Also,we know that Mesopotamia was the birthplace of writing,as well as many other inventions and discoveries that changed the world.Modern Iraq is where Mesopotamia was located.(Steele 6)

Art:In the text it says:In 221 B.C The Chinese Empire was formed.The Qin soldiers defeated the last of their enemies and united the "warring states"under the leader,Zheng.To show hsi supremacy over the kings he had vanquished,Zheng took the title of the first Sovereign Qin emperor.(Cotterell 16)
Writing:In the text it said the Shang King used oracle bones to consult the ancestral spirits."People would read the cracks in order to discover answers to questions.An ox bone or a tortoise shell was burned in a fire until it cracked.The oracle bones were used by the Shang kings to consult with ancestors.(Cotterell 11)
Religion:The text said,:Confucius believed that the early years of the Zhou dynasty were golden years of social harmony.In his own lifetime Confucius saw only growing disorder.The kings authority was greatly reduced as ambitious lords fought each other for power.(Cotterell 12)
Architecture/technology:In the text it says:Some of the worlds greatest inventions came from China.Throughout its imperial history, emperors encouraged the development of science and technology, and for many centuries China had led other nations in these areas.In the Middle Ages many Chinese inventions were carried along the Silk Road to europe were some had an enormous impact.(Cotterell 22)
Government:In the text it says:China is the world's oldest continuous civilization.From 221 B.C to A.D 1912,it was united under a single great empire.Ancient China remained untouched by the outside(Cotterell 6)
because it was a world apart.
Trade:In the text it says,:Trade flourished under the Mongol, or Yuan dynasty.The Mongol emperors ruled China from 1279 to 1369 and permitted merchants to trade freely throughout their vast empire.They controlled the entire length of the silk road,a series of trade routes that ran from northern China across Asia.( Cotterell 58)
