- - - - The author wrote that at first there was no name for the region but later the Greeks named it Mesopotamia , meaning " between the rivers." Also we know that " Mesopotamia was the birthplace of writing , as well as many other inventions and discoveries that changed the world." Modern Iraq is where Mesopotamia used to be located.(Steele 6)
  - - - A lasting symbol of ancient Mesopotamia. The texts says that " Is the ziggurat, a massive terraced platform made of brick. It represented a mountain, stretching from earth to the heavens. (Steele page 24
  - - - The author wrote " The sumerians worshipped many gods and goddesses". Also the author said that the sumerians thought that stars travelling across the sky was cows of sin or nanna.This shows how the Mesopotamians believed in many gods and that they are polytheistic. ( Steele 14)
  - - - In the text it says " Early people who lived as hunters and nomads did not need written records." Also it said " At first they used picture symbols to represent objects such as cattle,grain,or fish." This shows that the story of writing has evolved. ( Steele 12 )
  - - - On page 28 , the text said " The Mesopotamians mastered many technologies and crafts at an early point in their history". The text also said that they had started to mold clay into simple pots by the eighth millennium. They were known for loving pottery , art , and music.

ALso I know that they were represented to be a really long staircase to join the sun god. This is showing the artchitecture of ancient Egypt. ( HART Pg 20 )

Polytheistic is someone who believes in many gods and goddesses. This is showing the religion of the Egyptians. (HART Pg 24)

  - - - In the text it says " Scribes had to be experts in writing hieroglyphics,an elaborate form of picture -writing with about 700 different signs." Also I know that they can write left to right,right to left,or top to bottom. That is how I know what there writing used to be. (HART Pg 34)
  - - - In the text it says " The King was not only the most powerful and important man in egypt-he was thought to be a god." Also the queen of Egypt was also called a goddess. This is showing the government of ancient Egypt. ( HART Pg 10)
- - - - In the text it says, "The Aryan civilization had a large impact on modern-day India society." For example the caste system was still in place as late as 1949. In the text it also states that the Bhramin is the highest of the pyramid, the Kshatryia is next, the Vaishya is next, Sudra is at the bottom, and the Dalits were off the pyramid, or the untouchables. In conclusion they used a system for people.
