Mesopotamia
Architecture) Mesopotamian monumental architecture is epitomized by the ziggurat however they were also responsible for the first large scale palaces. Sumerians also built arches, canals, and aqueducts (Mark, 2023).
Religion) The sumerians worshiped many gods and goddesses. They also believe in many spirits, ghosts, and demons. Each city had itś own deity such as temples. (Steel 14)
Art is on page 28 it said by 3,000 BCE Metal workers are mixing tin and copper to make bronze. On page 28 they use cold, green, red, and blue gem stones to make necklaces. In the bookit states that 6,000 years ago they made pottery.
Government) The samirans onnared their city state ruler with various titles such as en, ensi, or lugal. Each dynasty was recorded on clay tablets known as king lists. Rulers had great power and fame and where remembered for centuries. (Steel 10)
Location: On pg 6 it said that flowing southward through the Middle East were two great rivers. The location of Mesopotamia is modern-day Iraq as well as parts of Turkey, Syria, and Iran. In the book it states that Mesopotamia included cooler mountainous regions in the north and reed-filled wetlands in the southeast. (Steele 6)
Writing) Sumerians constructed the first version of language. Pictograms are the earlier version of the cuneiform signs. Cuneiforms sign evolved into different harder to read symbols over 2,000 years. (Steel 12)

Writing: On pg 11 it said that questions and answers were inscribed on cortical bones. On pg 11 it also said that an ox bone or tortoiseshell was scorched until until it cracked. The cortical bones were used by strang kings to consult with ancestors.
