Mesopotamia
Location: On page six it said that flowing southward through the Middle East were two great rivers.The location of Mesopotamia was in modern day Iraq as well as parts of Turkey,Syria, and Iran.In the book it states that "Mesopotamia included cooler mountainous regions in the north and reedfield wetlands in the southeast." (Steele 6)
Architecture: On page 24 the book said "A lasting symbol of ancient Mesopotamia is the Ziggurats, a massive terrain platform made of brick." These buildings looked alike to a pyramid. They were made with the same material as the pyramids. The people made these ziggurats as early as 5000 B.C.

Religion: The Sumerians believed that the stars represented the cows of sin or the moon god Nanna. Each city in Sumer had a special deity to the gods.They also believed in ghosts, spirits, as well as demons and in later years they would change their gods.(Steele 14)
Art: On page 28 it said that they mastered many technologies and crafts.They developed many ways to make close for example the Textile.In the book it says "Textile production was another area of technological progress." (Steele 28)
Writing: On page 12, the book says the c inform, was the first form of writing.The people that used it would be; Medopotampains, Akkadians,Babylonians, as well as the Assurains.They used clay tables and styles to write. (Steele 12)
Government : On page 40 the book says "In 1120 BCE their ruler Tiglath Pileser I, founded an empire that reached the eastern Mediterranean." The rulers also made the first laws in history.They also expanded the empire. (Steele 40)

Ancient China
Religion: The religion of China is Confucianism. Some of Confucius's teachings where to respect your family and make strong bonds with thoses in your family. The religion is based of kindness respect and family. (Cotterell 12)
Art: Art was very decorative in China. They used jade,silk, chineses bronze, and lacquer in their art. On the social latter the artist were after the present farmers. They made tools and weapons for the army, and they made luxurasis items like table cloth and silk cloth. (Cotterrell 56)
Government : Emperor Qin was harsh during his reign, he made his people do things to benefit him. Some of the things he made his people do include; make them make his tomb, he made them slaves, and he made them build the Great Wall of China. During his reign he suppressed anyone who disagreed with him. (Cotterell 16)
Writing: On page 11 it said that questions were answered were inscribed on oracle bones.It also states that "an ox bone or tortoiseshell was scored until it cracked." The oracle bones were used by the Shang kings to consult with ancestors. (Cotterell 11)
Location: China is the worlds oldest civilization. It was under one empire that was ruled by dynasties. It is also where the religion of Confucianism. (Cotterell 6)
Architecture: Some the most known inventions came from China. These inventions were traded on the Silk Road, and they ended up in Europe. The inventions that were made was the early version of paper,gunpowder, and printing. They made many other things such as clocks,paper money, and silk ect. (Cotterell 22)
Commerce: Trade was booming in ancient China. People were allowed to trade freely, and by this inventions, and other products were spread around. Merchants were taxed heavily. Merchants also go great money from selling luxurious goods. (Cotterell 58)
