Ancient China
art: In the book it talks about how ancient china did their art and they did bronze, metallurgy, ceramics, calligraphy, painting, and stonework.
writing: on page 11 it said "the shang kings used oracle bones to consult the ancestral spirits" Questions and their answers were inscribed on the Oracle bone. Many times, an ox bone and tortoiseshell was used and then scorched until cracked. (cotterell 11)
religion: ancient china's religion was Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism. they performed Prehistoric ritual altars, cult statues, and burials.
architecture/Technolagy : in the book it talks about how Timber Framework is the most distinctive feature of traditional Chinese architecture is the use of wooden frameworks. Buildings were constructed with wooden posts, beams, and brackets, allowing flexibility and resilience against earthquakes.
government: in the text it says " in 221 B.C. the Chinese Empire was formed. The Qin soldiers defeated the last of their enemies and united the warring states under one leader, Zheng.
commerce (trade): in the book it talks about how china used pathways to trade Besides silk, teas, salt, sugar, porcelain, and spices
location: on page 6 it said, "Ancient china remained untouched by outside influences because it was a world apart". " Vast deserts and mountain ranges cut off china from other cultures in india, West Asia, Europe, and many hundreds of years passed before the Chinese realized 1n 126 B.C. That other civilisations existed.
Writing: One of the most confusing aspects of this ancient civilization is that the writing cannot be deciphered. Over 400 symbols have been uncovered from different locations. Many of the symbols are located on seals, ceramic pots, and other types of materials.
religion: The religion of the ancient Aryans, known as Brahmanism, was polytheistic and heavily influenced the later development of Hinduism. Both religions have much in common and share many rituals.
location: Around 5,000 years ago, a civilization developed along the indus river alluvial plain, in South Asia, due to the large amount of fertile land and proximity to a water source.
government: The Aryan civilization had a large impact on modern-day India society. For example, one Aryan influence on modern-day India was the development of the caste system. A caste is a social group in which people are born and they cannot change. The caste system began because the Aryans had four social classes, which they called varnas.
architecture and technology: The people within the indus valley created well-planned cities. Specifically, the people during this time cared deeply about hygiene, and their cities resembled the importance of this idea. These early cities show remnants of the world's earliest sanitation system. With the cities, people could obtain water from wells.
