Ancient Egypt
Location: On page 8 it said," The Egyptians lived on the banks of the Nile River". 90 percent of the land was desert and called the Red land, but most people lived along the river. Without the silt that fertilized the land, we would not have been an Egyptian civilization. (Hart 8)
Art: In the book it says that Egyptians wore jewelry with gold on it and with beads. The gold that they wore was beaten and molded into the shape of the necklace. They also imported stones for them. In the book it clearly says," Egyptian jewelers had no knowledge of stones like diamonds, emeralds, and rubies". ( Hart 56)
Architecture: The first pyramid was built as the burial place of Kings Djoser in c.2650 BCE, by his gifted architect. The people used mud and straw to strengthen the pyramid. In the book it says,'' The idea of this pyramid was to recreate the mound to come out of the water. (Hart 20)
Writing: Scribes had to be experts in writing hieroglyphs, an elaborate form of picture-writing with about 700 different signs. For business contracts, letters, and stories, scribes, used a different form of writing. It was often used for legal documents. Scribes living at the end of the Egyption civilization.

Government: The Egyptians worshiped hundreds of different gods and goddesses and it's hard for them to work out and worship all of them. Lots of their gods represent animals of wisdom. Egyptians have statues that they worship which is who they think is there gods.(Hart 24)
Religion: The Pharaoh was supposed to perform the duties of the high priest in every temple in Egypt. His place was usually taken by the chief priest. In the great temples such as Karnak at Thebes, scared to Amun-Re King of the Gods. They have Gods who live in temples and they make offerings to the Gods so they will help them.
