Ancient China
Art On page 56 it says, “China has always been renowned for its exquisite arts and crafts.” In Ancient China artists were considered as the most important members in their society. All of the Arts and Crafts in Ancient China are famous for their beautiful high quality ceramics.(Cotterell 56)
Writing On page 11 it said "The Shang kings used oracle bones to consult the ancestral spirits." Questions and their answers were inscribed on the oracle bone. Many times, an ox bone and tortoise shell was used and then scorched until it cracked. (Cotterell 11)
Religion On page 12 it said, “Confucius believed that family relationships should also be governed with mutual respect.” Confucius helped set up a religion for the Chinese people. In China Confucius had made a religion. (Cotterell 12)
Architecture/Technology On page 24 it says, “Paper and printing were probably the most important Chinese inventions.” The Chinese made a lot of different inventions like bamboo books, paper, and gunpowder. Some other printings and paper inventions that they did were paper mold and woodblock printing. (Cotterell 24)
Goverment On page 16 it says, “ In 221 BC the Chinese Empire was formed, the Qin soldiers defeated the last of their enemies and the warring States under one leader, Zheng.” China for over 2,000 years always only had one leader who was in charge. The leader who was in charge did whatever they wanted and had the Mandate of Heaven. (Cotterell 16)
Commerce/Trade On page 60 it said, “Zheng He led 7 Expeditions into the “Western Ocean” as a result more foreign rulers than ever recognize the ascendancy of the Chinese Empire.” The Chinese Empire did a lot of trading. Ancient China got resources from other nations for its people to use.(Cotterell 60)
Location On page 6 it said "Vast deserts and mountain ranges cut off China from other cultures in India, West Asia, and Europe." After China was unified they had a hard time expanding because of the deserts to the west and North and the mountains to the South. Ancient China used to be in Southeastern China and where the Great Wall of China is now is where the northern border of China used to be. (Cotterell 6)
Ancient Egypt
Location- Ancient Egypt was located in the lower Nile River in Northeast Africa. Ancient Egypt was divided into 4 zones The Delta, The Western Desert, The Eastern Desert, and The Nile Valley.
Architecture- The Architecture in Ancient Egypt is mostly large scale stone structures. A lot of Egypt pyramids which can be very large, to small stone temples. One of the pyramids is called the Great Pyramid of Giza.
Goverment- The government for Ancient Egypt was a theocratic Monarchy. The pharaoh was the ultimate authority and was believed to be a living god to them.
Religion- The religion for Ancient Egypt is polytheistic. One thing they believe is that the gods control the forces of nature and that they control the whole world.
Writing- The Ancient Egyptians used distinctive scrip for their writing today known as hieroglyphs. Hieroglyphs is Greek for sacred words. They used this for almost 4,000 years. They carved a lot in to the stone in tombs and temple walls.

Art- Ancient Egypt art is contribute to a lot of sculptures and painting as well as jewelry and some drawings. Not all artifacts survived but the ones that did were found in tombs and monuments.

Indus River Valley
Location, On the Website it says, "The Indus River Valley covers most of modern-day Pakistan, the northwestern region of modern-day India, and a small portion of Afghanistan." They mostly lived along the Indus River but then they started expanding Eastward until they reached the Himalayan mountains.They control the land where they could grow a lot of crops and rich in fertile soil. Writing, On the Website it says, There are hieroglyphics that have not yet been deciphered and are still confusing. "Over 400 symbols have been uncovered from different locations." Apparently their hieroglyphics were on all sorts of stuff pots seals and lots of other minerals. Writing Link
Religion, On the Website it says, "The religion of the ancient Aryans, known as Brahmanism, was polytheistic and heavily influenced the later development of Hinduism." When Hinduism had become a religion it was heavily influenced by Aryan's religion. Thanks to Aryan's, Hinduism has become one of the most popular religions. Religion Link
Government, On the Website it says, "One Aryan influence on modern-day India was the development of the caste system." It had affected modern-day India a lot because that system had divided the people among different classes and not everyone trusted each other. The system was so bad that the lowest class wasn't even part of the social pyramid. Government Link
Architecture/Technology, On the Website it says, "The advanced architecture and construction techniques of the Indus cities is also shown with impressive dockyards, granaries, warehouses, brick platforms, and protective walls." The Indus Valley Civilization apparently according to historians had advanced technology for their time.The Indus Valley Civilization was one of the first civilizations that cared about their hygiene. Mesopotamia
Location The author wrote that the location didn't have a name, but eventually it was called Mesopotamia meaning "between the rivers." Mesopotamia was the birthplace of writing as well as additional inventions that have changed the world. In the book it states that "the region between the rivers is sometimes called the cradle of civilization." (Steele 6)
Religion - The religion for Mesopotamina is polytheistic. Polytheistic means they worship many gods and goddesses there are 8 to be exact one of them is Sin- The moon god.
Art The Mesopotamians mastered many technologies and crafts. they started to mold clay by the eighth miillenium BCE. In 3000 BCE metalworkers in mesopotamia were mixing a tin to make a new alloy called bronze to help them. (Graham 28) :
Government - Mesopotamian government is an independent government. Each state has its own rules and customs.
Architecture- Most of the architecture of mesopotamians is epitomized by Ziggurat from the 10th millennium BC to the 6th Century BC. There is also the first large scale temples that the Sumerians are responsible for making.
Writing- The Mesopotamians use a cuneiform of writing. They use clay tablets and reed styluses to do their writing. The clay is damp when the styluses are pressed into it to write.
