Ancient China
Art: On page 56 it says that China was known for their arts and crafts. This is because they had good materials. I know this because the text says "In imperial China, luxury goods formed the major export commodities- Chinese bronze, jade silk, lacquer, and porcelain were prised in Asia and Europe. "This shows how the Chinese were able to be known for their arts. (Cotterell 56)
Writing: On pg 11 it says that the Shang kings used oracle bones to speak with ancestors. The oracle bones are made from ox bones or tortoiseshells. It was scorched until it cracked and the cracks answered important questions.(Cotterell 11)
Religion: On page 12 it says that Confucius was inspired by the wars and respect. I know this because, the text says "It was based on kindness, respect, and the strength of family." Confucius had a new outlook when these wars happened he wanted everyone to treat each other with respect. (Cotterell 12)
Architecture/ Technology:On Page 22 it says some of the Greatest inventions are from China. In the text it says "gunpowder changed the way battles were fought." It also says they also made an invention to check on the lands to see if any natural disasters happen to keep The Mandate of Heaven. (Cotterell 22)
Government: On page 16 it says emperor Quin was the first emperor of China and treated others poorly. In the text it said that, he treated his subjects poorly and made them be slave labors to build The Great Wall of China. Also the text said "But after the First Emperor's rule, the Chinese felt that unity was normal." This must mean that Emperor Quin is the first emperor and was harsh.(Cotterell 16)
Location:On page 6 it says that China is the oldest continuous civilization. I know this because the text said it was from 221 B.C. to A.D. 1912, it was united by a single great empire. The services established by the first Han emperor that helped successive dynasties. (Cotterell 6)
Trading/Commerce:On page 58 it says the trading of Ancient China is the Silk Road. The Silk Road is the trade route of Ancient times to get other supplies to have a high GDP.In the text it says "They controlled the empire length or the Silk Road". (Cotterell 58)
Ancient India
Writing: "One of the most confusing aspects of this ancient civilization is that the writing cannot be deciphered." More than 400 symbols have been discovered. Scholars have wondered if this is a part of the writing system.
Location:In the text it said about 5,000 years ago, a civilization settled on the Indus River, South Asia. Also in the text it said "Over time, a vast number of settlements were built on the banks of the Indus River and surrounding areas." The civilization of ancient
India had found their home by the river for food growth.
Religion: In religion of Ancient India believed whatever higher or lower status is the rank your in. In the text it said "The caste system began because the Aryans had four social classes, which they called varnas." This means that the caste system believed whatever status you had, were important or were the trash.
Government: The government of Ancient India was the caste system. The caste system involved: Brahmin, Kshatriya, Vaishya, Sudra, Dalits. In the text it said "The Aryan civilization had a large impact on modern-day India society."
Architecture/technology: In Ancient India their architecture/ technology was very advanced in building homes with bathrooms and other important architecture. In the text it said "The people within the Indus Valley created well-planned cities." This means back in ancient times of Ancient India they were very advanced in Architecture/ technology.
