Location: In the text It said that originally there wasn't a name for the region, but later the Greeks named it Mesopotamia meaning "between the rivers". There were two rivers that flowed through the middle East, the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers.In the book it stated that "most of ancient Mesopotamia lay within the borders of modern Iraq." (Steele 6)
Architecture: In the text it said that Ziggurats represent Mountains stretching from the Earth to the heavens.In the book it states "The Ziggurats themeselfe had small temples or shirnes on top reached by long stairsway."The text said that the some platefore for the Ziggurats were made in 5000 DCE. (steel 24)
Religion:In the text it states that they believed that the stars were cows and sins traveling across the night sky or Nanna the horned god.On page 14 it said "Erik, the good of water and wisdom, was thought to live in an underground ocean called the Aqsu." The book "eyewitness Mesopotamia" states that the Erik worships Ea,lanna as the goddess Lshtar, and made merduk there made God. (steel 14)
Art: In the text it said that Mesopotamians mastered the art of modeling clay to may pots and art technology at an early age.Then they made the pottery wheel which made the population of pottery production far more efficient.In the text it states that "This beautiful necklace, with its rich gemstones and exquisite gold work" (Steele 28)
Writing: In the text it said people who lived as hunters and nomads did not need written records.But the text also states that "at first they used pictures and symbols to represent objects such as cattle, grain, or fish."Over time the marks develop in to scraps that represent sound as well as meaning. (Steele 12)
Government: In the text it states that the Ashur began to gain wealth by trade with the Anatolia.The text also stated that
"In 1120 BCE there ruler, Tiglagh-pileser 1,founded an empire that reached to the esteron Mediterranean." in the text it states that Sango's empire was finally brought down in 612 BCE. (steel 40)
