Location: In the text it said that it originally there wasnt a name for the region but later the Greeks discovered named it mesopotamia meaning "between the rivers".There were two rivers that flowed through the middle east,The tigris and Eughrates river.In the book,it states "most of accient Mesopotamia lay within the borders of modern Iraq."(Steele 6)
Architecture:In the text it says the social divisions were reflected in the layout of the cities.In the text it says"At the center were templates,towering ziggurats and luxurious royal palaces."Around these were offices of scribes and civil servants and crafts workshops. (steele 16)
Religion:In the text its says that the Sumerians believed in many gods.In the texts it says"They believed that the stars traveling across the sky were the cows of sin or Nanna,the horned Moon god." The sumerians believed in Gods,ghost and demons later the Messatopians people adapted and sometimes giving them names.In the book it states how ther Sumerians believed in many Gods.(steele 14)
Art:In the text it said "This teqnique was first developed in Anatolia,but soon spread to Mesopotamia with the growth in the trade in tin." The time before 3500 BCE they invited the potter wheel and it made things way easier back then in the book,it states that's "The mesopotamians mastered mayn technologies and crafts at an early point in their history."(Steele 28)
Writing :In the sentence it said "As the first cities arose,people began to require recorders of ownership,businesses deals,and government."Another one is "700 different symbols or pitcograophs were used by the citizens of Uruk in 3300 BCE.These two sentences support how they write back in Urak and cities.(page 12)author Steele. )
Government:In the text it says the government is made up of city state rulers with different titles.In the text it says Sumerian rulers enjoyed power and fame. Their exploits and deeds were remembered for centuries.This evidence supports that government is is made up of city state rulers with different titles."Gilgamesh of Uruk became legendary and their history was entangled with all kinds of myths."(steele(10)

Location;On page 8 it said that on the banks of the Nile was the "Black land"which was named after the rich dark silt.Ninety percent of Egypt is covered by desert called the "Red land."According to the text,"without this fertility,there would have been no civilization in egypt."(Hart 8)
Architecture:¨The first pyramid was built as the burial place of king Djoser in c.2650 BCE,by his gifted architect imhotep.¨The idea of this pyramid is to create the mound that came out of the soft ground.(Hart 20)
Religion:The Egyptians worshipped hundreds of different gods and goddesses,and sometimes it is difficult to workout who was who.Each of the 42 different administrative districts or nomes had its own god and there was so many gods besides.The egyptians had many different gods and different ones to beilive in.(Hart 24)
Art;¨The Egyptians learned the art of dyeing there clothes in colored patterns from the middle east,but the technique was never wisely use.¨The number of pleats had a lot in the number of statues.Art is very important back then.(Hart 20)
Writing:¨Scribes had to be experts in writing heirogyles an elaborate form of picture writing with about 700 hundred different sign.¨They use writing for letters,business,stories,scribes,and contracts they use alot of different writing in ancient egypt it was very important. (Hart 34)
Goverment:¨Some of there cortiers were relatives of the king,some won high office through their abiltity as scribes.¨They got gifts for being high office like kings,preist,govornment,courtiers.(Hart 12)
