mesopotamia: Mesopotamia (from the Greek, meaning 'between two rivers') was an ancient region located in the eastern Mediterranean bounded in the northeast by the Zagros Mountains and in the southeast by the Arabian Plateau, corresponding to modern-day Iraq and parts of Iran, Syria, Kuwait, and Turkey and known as the Fertile Crescent and the cradle of civilization.
location: In the text it is said that ancient Mesopotamia is part of modern-day iraq. Mesopotamia was also located between the tigris and Euphrates river. Also,according to the book"much of the region is now hot desert,but many areas were much more fertile in antiquity."( Steel page 6)
art: In the texx the mesopotamians used to wear the Green,Gold,Red,And Blue necklaces to see how much health and wealth they have and to keep evil spirits away. Also they made bricks out of using wet mud and putting it into molds to make the shape of a brick and to make homes with the bricks.
government: cross different Greek city-states and over many centuries, political power expressed itself in different forms of government, often in the same city as it evolved. Power could rest in the hands of a single individual, an elite or in every male citizen: democracy - widely regarded as the Greeks' greatest contribution to civilization.
architecture:One of the lasting contributions ancient cultures have made to modern life is architecture, both in terms of surviving monuments and their influence on contemporary buildings around the world. Ambitious rulers set up pyramids in Egypt and the Americas, while arches of one form or another dotted many Roman cities and Japanese sacred sites. Walls were another popular and often necessary feature of ancient landscapes, amongst the most famous being Hadrian's Wall in Britain, the Great Wall of China and the Theodosian Walls of Constantinople but there were many more besides. Theatres, amphitheatres and stadiums were all common features of ancient cities from North Africa to Western Turkey and are still being imitated today from Rio to Qatar.

Ancient Egypt
location: Ancient Egypt, civilization in northeastern Africa that dates from the 4th millennium BCE. Its many achievements, preserved in its art and monuments, hold a fascination that continues to grow as archaeological finds expose its secrets.
architecture:The best known example of ancient Egyptian architecture are the Egyptian pyramids and Sphinx, while excavated temples, palaces, tombs, and fortresses have al
so been studied. Most buildings were built of locally available mud brick and limestone by paid laborers and craftsmen.
religion:In the text it said that there is a area near the nile was kemet or the black land, named after the rich dark silt on witch the farmers grew there crops.
art In ancient Egypt, art was magical. Whether in the form of painting, sculpture, carving or script, art had the power to maintain universal order and grant immortal life by appealing to various gods to act on behalf of people – both in life and in death.

writing:In the text it said that scribes had to be experts in writing hieroglyphs, an elaborate from of picture-writing using about 700 different signs.
government:Ancient Egypt was ruled by kings called pharaohs. Pharaohs were believed to be gods on Earth, and it was this belief that was the source of their power, also called divine right. A pharaoh's family helped him rule by filling other important offices in the Egyptian government

Writing:The author wrote down that they used writing for business deals,ownership,and for the government. In the book it said," At first they used picture symbols to represent picture objects as cattle, grain,or fish." They used a stylist for writing.( steele 12)
Ancient China
Art: in the text it said that China has always been renowned for its equistet arts and crafts. In Imarial china. Pg,56
Writing: On page 11 it says That the shang kings used oracle bones to speak with ancestors. The oracle bones are made from ox bones or tortoiseshells. It was scorched until it cracked and the cracks answered
important questions.( C. pg 11)
Religion: One page 12 it says That there was a tomb animal and it had spiky horns and a snake like tail. They also said that it had a Cowlike body and curved heals. They Also wrote its name on the horses body.

Government:The government of the People's Republic of China is based on a system of people's congress within the parameters of a unitary communist state, in which the ruling Chinese Communist Party (CCP) enacts its policies through people's congresses. This system is based on the principle of unified state power, in which the legislature, the National People's Congress (NPC), is constitutionally enshrined as "the highest state organ of power." As China's political system has no separation of powers, there is only one branch of government which is represented by the legislature.
Commerce(Trade): In the text it says that the silk road was a way that people would go around and trade things from there religion or there country.
Location: China, country of East Asia. It is the largest of all Asian countries. Occupying nearly the entire East Asian landmass, it covers approximately one-fourteenth of the land area of Earth, and it is almost as large as the whole of Europe.
