Athens government was a democracy. Their democracy was divided into 3 groups. The groups were all elected different
Roles
Men took care of groceries, fought in the military, managed property, and had most rights. Women had to stay home and take care of the children, she teaches the girls how to cook, clean, and sew. Young boys get education while girls did not,
Geography
They had plenty of water which made it easier to trade Ideas for ideas in different city states. They share ideas, culture, traditions, ect.
Daily Life as an Athen
Life as an Athen was mostly spent at home. They usually spent time in different rooms and ate basic meals
Sparta
Government
Ruled by an oligarchy including 2 kings and 28 men. To vote you had to be a man 60 years of age or older.
Religion and Beliefs
Sparta was polytheistic meaning they worshipped multiple gods. They had a strong belief in their military.
Roles
No matter what age or gender, its revolved around the military. You had to be good at fighting and healthy as a kid or you'd be left to die. Women had more rights over men, men fought in the military.
Geography
Isolating from mountains made sparta an independent city-state meaning they took little ideas from other city-states.
Life in Sparta
In Sparta, coins were not allowed. They had to use rods and weren't able to trade. They were an independent city-state.
