An ellipse is a plane curve that encloses two focal points, with the property that the sum of the distances from any point on the curve to these two focal points is always the same. A circle is a specific kind of ellipse where the two focal points coincide.

A circle is a geometric figure made up of all the points in a plane that are a specific distance from a fixed point known as the center. This fixed distance is referred to as the radius. When a line segment joins two points on the circle and goes through the center, its length is called the diameter.
-
A parabola is a plane curve that has mirror symmetry and resembles a U-shape. It can be described in various seemingly different mathematical ways, all of which ultimately describe the same curve. One way to define a parabola involves a point and a line.
-
A hyperbola is a smooth curve in a plane, defined either by its geometric properties or by equations whose solutions represent the curve. It consists of two distinct parts, known as branches or connected components, which are mirror images of each other and resemble two infinite arcs.
