MI, CARDIACARRHYTHMIAS, CARDIAC DISFUNCTION
HYPOVOLEMIC SHOCK-MOST COMMON,
INADEQUATE VENOUS RETURN TO HEART
.
DISTRIBUTIVE SHOCK- ANAPHYLACTICNEUROGENIC, SEPTIC ALLERGEN; TRAUMA, DRUGS, BRAIN STEM, SPINAL CORD; BACTERIAL
.
OBSTRUCTIVE SHOCK- DECREASED CARDIAC FUNCTION ARTERIAL STENOSIS, PULMONARY EMBOLISM, CARDIAC TAMPONADE
Signs and Symptoms
Hypovolemic Shock: Dehydration, Rapid thready pulse, cool skin, and reduction of urine output, mental confusion
Cardiogenic shock: Reduction in blood pressure, with systolic below 90 mmHG, Fast, weak pulse, cold, clammy skin, cyanosis, nonspecific chest pain, shortness of breath, and reduction in urine output, mental confusion.
