PANS VS SANS, Drugs that affect the PANS - Coggle Diagram
PANS VS SANS
"Fight or flight"
-
-
Function: occurs when the autonomic nervous system is stimulated; increased heart rate and increase in pupil dilation
Neurotransmitters:
-
Postganglionic: mostly norepinephrine is released at their synapse within the smooth muscles of the target organs
A and B receptors
-
-
SANS b2 receptors
Smooth muscles, eyes and lungs
-
-
"Rest & digest"
-
Neurotransmitters: Preganglionic originate in the CNS
Postganglionic neurons effect organs and tissues
Function: “rest and digestion” response when the body is relaxed, resting or feeding
Nicotinic and muscarinic receptors: Found in the PNS, CNS, SNS, adrenal medulla and neuromuscular junction
