- - - - This source is somewhat confusing, but I think the perspective it's trying to give is really insightful.
        Gender can't be inherent at the same time being defined by an outside force.
        
        My opinion: In the same way people started deviating away from race and started aligning more with ethnicity as they realized it's a social construct, people are beginning to do the same with gender. Ethnicity is built on one's biological descent, but also their culture, so I believe gender could be defined this way, contradictory to the source.

        Islamic culture believes that only 2 genders, male/female, exist, therefore trans/intersex people are not accepted into society.
        
        Possibly bring something up about 3rd gender in Aztec society, or read into Eunuch's roles in China.

        Becoming a Eunuch is not seen as an honorable thing, so those who go through gender reassignment surgery may be discriminated against
        
        In certain teachings, people are also not required to bathe deceased khunsa, which may lessen their value to society even more
        
        Compare/Contrast the respect/discrimination that Eunuchs received between cultures.
        
        Gender is split from sex, and that is accepted as a fact. What is less accepted is how people perceive themselves. In some cases, it's impossible to define gender, as it results in a paradox. In others, the definition of gender can be determined by where a person urinates from.
        
        Attempting to define gender only proves that yes, gender is a social construct, because we, as a collective, are constructing the meaning of something that seems so arbitrary and dynamic.
        All this information that we have gathered so far still converges into a new topic, however.
        
        The question of gender is complicated, so we end up with a new question: Is it right to determine what gender is and is not in the first place?
        
        If we are to approach gender as something dynamic, how should we approach integration of this idea?
        
        WEB DuBois & Booker T Washington had the same debate for the integration of African Americans into American society, so we may be able to find some inspiration from them

        There have been successful cases in which people have transitioned before, but there is still lots of stigma surrounding it

        Sex change surgery is seen as a crime in several Islamic countries, whereas certain countries are more lenient to it when it comes to those who are intersex so they can live a healthier life.
