art:The author says that " THe mesopotamians mastered many technologies and crafts at an early point in history ".AT about 3500 bce , the people invented the potter's wheel The mesopotamians also created a gold ,green, red, and blue necklace which was very expensive due to the amounts of gold and costly ,scarce gems . ( Steele 28 )
architecture : THe author says , " A lasting symbol of mesopotamia is a ziggurat, a massive terraced platform made of brick.It represented a mountain stretching from earth to the heavens. The ziggurats looked similar to the pyramids in ancient egypt."
religion: The author states that , " While Babylon thrived during the age of Nebuchadnezzar , mesopotamians northern and eastern neighbors were becoming ever so powerful.Chief among them were the Medes and the persians .The Mendes joined forces with the Babylonians to sack the assyrian.
writing : The author says that," The sumerians devised the world's first script or writing. At first they used picture symbols to represent objects such as cattle, grain or fish.by around 3300 bce the citizens of uruk were using about 700 symbols . (Steele 9 )
location : THe author wrote that the location didn't have a name, but eventually it was called mesopotamia meaning " between the rivers". mesopotamia was the birthplace of writing as well as additional inventions that have changed the world. In the book it states that " the region between the rivers is sometimes called the cradle of civilizations ". ( Steele 6)
government : The author states that , " city state rulers were honored with various titles such as Lord, governor , or king.The reigns of each dynasty were recorded on clay tablets known as king lists." ( Steele 7 )

Location: On page 8 , it that " THe egyptians lived on the banks of the nile river or canals extending from it." THere would be no civilization without the fertility. THe blue Nile and the white Nile covered and brought silt into Egypt ( Hart 8 )
religion: IN the text it states that " THe Egyptians worshiped hundreds of gods and goddesses and it was difficult to work out who was who. There gods or goddesses were represented by animals . THey also had 42 different administrative districts . ( hart 24)
writing: In the text it states that," Scribes had to be experts in writing hieroglyphs". They had to do this and elaborate with 700 different signs . They were allowed to write , left to right , right to left , and top to bottom . ( hart 34)
Government: In the text it says that " The king was not only the most powerful and important man in egypt - he was thought to be a god ." Also the queen of Egypt was called the Great Royal Wife. And the queen was also seen as a goddess of Egypt . ( hart 10 )
Architecture : I the text it states that " the first Pyramid was built as the burial place of KIng Djoser.'' And also another pyramid was built in giza , for King Khufu. And they built these pyramids super high so no one could get into them. ( hart 20)
art: In the text it states that " flax provided linen clothes for everyone in ancient Egypt.But the workers tried their best to avoid linen clothes.And had very clear and good ideas on how to avoid wearing linen. THen the egyptians learned the art of dying their clothes. (hart 54 )
Ancient china
art: According to the text it says that, China is known for its exquisite arts and crafts. China includes many different materials in their art such as, bronze, jade, silk, lacquer, and porcelain. If you want to create art in china you have to be heavily skilled with your hands. They would sell there artworks and creations for money and they would make a living out of them. They also would even create weapons! ( (Cotterell 56
writing: On page 11 it said that questions and answers were unscripted on Oracle bones .It also states that " an ox bone or tortoiseshell was scorched until it cracked".The Oracle bones were used by that shang kings to consult with ancestors.(cottrell pg11
religion : On page 12 it states that " Confucius believed that the early years of the Zhou dynasty were golden years of social harmony. also the golden years brought , " kindness, respect , and strength to china . This means his ruling was setting a good example by dealing fairly with his subjects.

Architecture: On page 40 the author states that " The landscape of imperial china was dotted with walled towns and cities. All of the building were dotted and not ridged . The towns and building were traditionally built.

government: On page 16 the text says that " ancient china was ruled by an emperor. his name was Qin he was the first emperor . He wasn't the best leader but he helped china strengthen to where they are now .

commerce / trading : in the text it states that " Trade flourished under the mongol , or yuan , dynasty. This helped trade get started in ancient china . International trade thrived because caravans could travel without danger .

location: On page 6 it states that " china was located in vass deserts and mountain ranges . It also states " It was located in India , West asia , and Europe. Some of china's culture was cut off due to the location. ( cottrell pg #6)
