What have we learned(SCIENCE)(Waves)?
Waves
What are waves?
A wave is a propagating dynamic disturbance for one or more quantities.
How do we measure waves?
We can measure waves by using an oscilloscope for electrical waves, and there is a laser distraction system for the light waves.
Types of waves
Longitudinal
What is a longitudinal wave?
Longitudinal wave is wave in which the medium’s vibration is parallel to the direction of the wave.
Characteristics
The main characteristics of longitudinal waves are wavelength, frequency, amplitude and many other more.
How do longitudinal waves move?
Longitudinal waves move when the vibration of the medium is parallel to the direction of the wave travels and it’s displacement.
Transverse
What is a transverse wave?
Transverse wave
is a wave that oscillates perpendicularly to the direction of the wave’s advance.
Characteristics
The characteristics of transverse wave is that it needs a medium to travel but it is unable to travel with the vacuum.
