    - - Inventions like the helicopter and the walkie talkie appeared, Pluto was officially discovered and named as a planet, and Karl Jansky begins the science of radio astronomy as he observes interference in the form of hissing sounds coming from beyond the earth's atmosphere.
- - - - Is a drug which helps the goverment to keep the control of the citizens. The effect of the substance makes people feel happy and keep calm, it that way, they don´t think too much or feel bad. Basically, is a way in which the characters become ignorant.
        
        These symbols are representing two different ways of control
    - - It shows how people are treated like products, and not like real humans. Since the beggining of their lives, they grow inside bottles, which takes away their individuality. The idea of living "inside a bottle" shows how the government controls every part of a person's life, preventing them from growing or thinking for themselves.
  - - - The characters in the novel “Brave New World” often avoid facing the truth. The drug soma is an example of it because it helps people escape of their reality by making them feel happy all the time and they prioritize happiness over truth because they believe that people are better without think at all about they reality, even if it means ignoring the truth. The government in the book hides two types of truth: scientific truth (real facts and knowledge) and human truth (love, friendship, and personal relationships).
    - - The government controls its citizens to maintain power. However, instead of using fair, as in “1984”, the government in “Brave New World” uses technology to make people be obedient. This control leads to a loss of dignity, morals, emotions, and humanity.
    - - The World State in Brave New World does everything it can to prevent people from developing individual identities. They believe that individuality represents a dangerous in the social stability.
    - - In Brave New World the government uses advanced technology to control every part of people’s lives, from how they are born until how they think. For example, reproduction is controlled through medical procedures, and people are conditioned from birth to have their specific place in the society. Also, entertainment machines keep people distracted, while the drug "soma" makes everyone happy. This shows how the government uses technology to create a perfect, and controlled world.
    - - The novel shows how the success is measured by economic growth and the ability to satisfy desires. People are constantly encouraged to consume and buy new things, and the happiness is basically defined by material comfort.
- - - - How did Huxley's personal experiences and worldview influence his writing?
        
        Huxley wanted to be a doctor, but he had an illness that forced him to turned to writer instead. He is famous for his book Brave New World, but he also wrote many other novels and essays about human nature and society.
