What can I improve, develop, learn in my passions
Cricket
Batting
Overall I would say that my defense and strike rotation are the positives of my batting. Specifically I have great eye to hand coordination, depth and perception skills. After performance analysis on my dismissals, one thing was made clear that my power hitting was the weakness of my batting. I would always get caught on the boundary or mistime the ball. Representing the majority of my dismissals.
Limitations: Developing power hitting skills is often time consuming, many athletes taking years to increase distance to a sufficient level.
Bowling :
In terms of bowling my strong point was my consistent accuracy and swing, while weak points I had myself noted was my mediocre pace. A slowed pace allowed the batsman to judge the ball more appropriately and subsequently execute cricketing shots better.
There is a limited amount of resources on the internet, no accessible coached. Also bowling speed is typically influenced by genetics (up to 67%) and body structure out of control of many people. Potentially decreasing impact to others or even myself.
Feilding :
In feilding, my explosiveness were on point as well as the distance and accuracy of throws. However I had noticed that my dives and slides, were lackluster. Excellent fielding is often the decider of games, 3/4 runs saved every over can often make the difference.
In my opinion the impact of feilding is less dependent on a fielders skill but the team unit (positioning of fielders, build up of pressure on the batsman to break through the field) hence developing fielding may not be the best thing to do.
Cooking
What Can I Still Learn?.
-
Competitive Cooking
Learning about competitive cooking provides focus, boosts confidence, and offers a creative outlet. Engaging in cooking challenges can distract from stress, improve mindfulness, and build self-esteem.
Although there are limited amount of amateur cooking competitions in adelaide. Most cooking competitions require a substantial cost of entry, or prior professional or competitive experience. High barrier of entry
Learning Indian Cuisine
As my background is north indian, I have been brought up around a plethora of indian dishes each having a regional twist, something special, a soul. I would be fascinated in developing my indian cuisine, since I feel like my heritage/connection with my culture is slowly fading as I interact with a diverse community. I believe that learning how to cook cultural foods will benefit not only me but also other 1st and 2nd generation immigrants.
