Solution ideas
Students have to give their devices to the teachers at the beginning of the school day, and they will get them back after school
What about recesses?
What if the parent needs to contact the student during the day?
What if the students need their devices for learning (e.g. kahoot, calculator, camera)
Students may use their devices during recess, but they have to give them to the teachers at the beginning of every lesson
Will the children rather spend time on their devices than e.g. chatting with friends or playing outside?
What if someone does not own a mobile phone? (mostly an elementary school issue)
A law or a recommendation?
If mobile devices are banned in schools by law, what happens if one breaks the law?
Under 15-year-olds are not criminally liable
If the schools have different policies, it is unfair to the students
The municipality should come up with a policy that it's schools will follow to decrease the inequality among schools
Should there be different rules for elementary, middle and upper secondary schools?
Total ban in elementary schools
7-12-year olds do not need mobile phones, a smartwatch is enough
Prohibited usage during lessons in middle schools
The middle-schoolers are more independent and will not really play anymore + almost everyone has a mobile phone
No restrictions in upper secondary schools
The students already use mobile devices for studying + some people are 18
