Authoritative Parents
strict rules
Result:
becomes obedient
not allowed to decide for herself
child surpress his / her emotions
cannot decide for himself / herself
Consequences:
cries: told to stop
talks back: timeout
didn't do chores: not allowed to play
Permissive Parents
Give full freedom, never say "NO!"
A child who controls his parents
Result:
never coped with conflict, can't control his emotions
inconsiderate, doesn't know limits
child grows without borders & rules
Authoritarian Parents
Respect the child's needs
Freedom within limits
Examples:
After playing - told to clean up
Allowed to eat ice-cream but only on Sundays
Screen time is allowed but within limit
Listen to what the child has to say then lay down rules
Result:
follows his interests and passions
expresses his own opinions inappropriate manner
child develops strengths to endure hardships
Over-involved Parents
slow plows
: removing obstacles out of their kids' path

': hover about & micro-manage every aspect of their child's life
never allow their children to do anything on their own
Result:
child can't overcome challenges by themselves
child doesn't like to solve difficult problems;

Neglectful Parents
child experience full freedom,
plenty of imagination
child: never receives feedback,
affection, love and attention
usually not present in their children's life
Result:
unable to form healthy relationships
insecurely attached
lacks of trust in herself & others
lacks of attention
develop negative image of himself / herself
