JOSEPH
EGYPT
Joseph was sold to Potiphar, an Egyptian Pharaoh who entrusted him with all of his personal affairs as he knew that God was with Joseph
The wife of Potiphar wants to sleep with Joseph but he refused, so she framed him with a raped case of her.
Potiphar imprisoned Joseph.
In jail, God is still with Joseph and worked everything out for him; he became an interpreter of dreams which were real and right.
a year or two year after, a Pharaoh dreamed again and again but no one could interpret it; a cupbearer (once a prisoner) remembered about Joseph and tell the Pharaoh, so he got Joseph out from the prison.
He interprets that the Pharaoh's dream which is about the Pharaoh's 7 years of abundance and 7 years of famine. The Pharaoh then put Joseph as the in charge of the entire country and gave him a wife, Asenath, daughter of a priest, and had 2 sons which are Manasseh and Ephraim.
Joseph now stored foods for the country for 7 years before the abundance came to an end, but the famine came and got worse, the whole world came to him to buy supplies.
Joseph told his brother that they are spies; one of them must brought the other one (Benjamin), and the nine should stay imprisoned for 3 days.
As the famine got worse, Joseph bought all the lands of the people in Egypt except for the priests', and they became slaves — they were given crops to be planted and the fifth should be given to Pharaoh and four-fifths for themselves.
Jacob then met Joseph's sons and blessed them. He also talked to his whole family and gave his last message as he was dying. He wants to be buried with his fathers in the cave which is in the field of Ephron the Hittite.
At the end, Joseph died at 110 years and was buried in a coffin in Egypt.
His brothers then ask for Joseph's forgiveness and willingly become his slaves: they were forgiven by Joseph as he knows that God made it happen to save lives.
Joseph and his brothers carried out the last wish of his father Jacob and he lived for 147 years.
Jacob was told about Joseph and he then went to Egypt with all of his descendants. Joseph and all of his family had reunited in Egypt, and he settled and took care of them as Pharaoh wanted.
They came back to Egypt with Benjamin and treated them nicely; he then wept and revealed himself to them. He questioned their evil deeds but free them eventually with loads of food stock.
On the 3rd day, they were set free with loads of food and their money returned, but the youngest should be brought back to Joseph in exchange for the one who's left.
10 of Joseph's brothers, leaving Benjamin, looked for food and when they arrived in Egypt, they bowed and treated Joseph with honor and didn't recognize him, unlike Joseph, who recognized his brothers.
Ruben went to the cistern and didn't find Joseph in there because he was sold already by their brothers and plotted everything as if Joseph had been killed; Israel mourned the loss of his son and refused any comfort
his brothers proceeded with the plan and even ripped off his fancy coat; Judah then suggested to sell Joseph to the Ishmaelites as he's still their brother after all
he had dreamed about his fortunes and the sun, moon, and all stars bowed before him so his brothers plot a way to kill Joseph because of envy but Reuben overheard them and told them not to kill Joseph, but he agreed to throw him in an old cistern and will help him later and take him back to their father.
loved by Jacob more than his other sons and gave him an embroidered coat, so his brothers were jealous of him and wouldn't speak to him.
