Abu Bakr - the advisor of Muhammad and was the first caliph and compiled the Quran into a single written text
Muhammad - the final prophet - was meditating in a cave on the mountain when he was visited by the angel Jibreel (Gabriel) who ordered him to recite, Muhammad began to recite words which he came to believe were the words of God
