Choosing my AIF Learning goal through interests
Food/Cooking
Learning how to cook
Pros:
Learning how to cook is a very important part of my life and in the future I need to be able to cook food for myself.
Learning how to cook will help my improve my organisation and time management skills profoundly
Cons
It might be hard to measure the success throughout the course as I would only be able to collect qualitative feedback from people who try my meals.
Learning how to implement nutritional values into everyday meals that I make
Learning how to do meal prep
Track and Field
Being able to jump further in long jump
Improving my 100m time
Pros:
I want to become a sprinter past high school, so therefore it would be beneficial for me to improve my sprinting time to potentially win a state championship,
There can be a set goal that I can create to be a clear measurement of my progress (Time for example reducing my time from 12 seconds to 11.5 or jumping further)
Challenging myself to run faster would help keep me healthy and active while improving my strength
Basketball
Learning how to dribble
Pros:
Will help me improve my hand eye coordination skills
This will help me become a better basketball player
I have an interest in basketball and being able to play it better
Cons:
Improving my basketball skills does not have a beneficial impact on anyone outside of me.
I do not plan to continue playing club or school basketball in the future and therefore the skills I learn would be useful for a limited time.
