Me at Work
I value a job that respects that I'm just one person that does this and doesn't immediately overwhelm me with projects with insane deadlines that I have to crunch hours constantly in order to meet said deadlines.
I have always been passionate about creating something from nothing and putting in a ton of time in order to create something that I'd be proud of. Video editing for me is the perfect tool to accomplish this as I'm taking rough video, audio, music, effects, etc. in order to create something that people will watch and hopefully enjoy.
My work ethic is getting all of the currents tasks and needs for the current project done as soon as they're available so I won't be overwhelmed when new tasks/projects appear. As someone who mainly focuses on video editing I like to get full videos done in one sitting however, if the video in question is the lengthy one (documentary style) then I will focus on getting key sections done at a time before moving on.
Ethics in the video editing circle revolve around not blatantly stealing someone else's video or video idea in order to create something that's obviously a copycat of another's work. It's perfectly ok to take inspiration from something someone else has done but it's a very fine line between inspiration and outright plagiarism.
Long Term Goals
My proposed budget currently does not support my lifestyle needs after graduation. I'm currently out of work as I finish up my time here at BG. One concluded however, I will be looking for VCT related employment to give me some sort of foundation to get started.
I already have a Roth IRA that I have been putting money into monthly for about 6 years now. Once I get a better paying job I will begin to start putting even larger sums of money into it monthly.
My current long term financial goals include getting a better paying job, build my savings account back up to the point where I'm able to finally move out and settle into a small house before going from there.
Video Editor Management positions salary are around $97,248 per year.

My personal brand revolves around versatility, and how I'm a jack of all trades when it comes to solving any VCT related problem.
Life Long Learner
After graduation I'm planning on educating myself about the industry by learning on the job when I do start a video editor position. The more work I do for them the more my skills and knowledge of industry will keep growing.
Current trends in the video editing space revolve around short form video content and social media content in general. Most video editors work on videos solely for social media use.
Between 2022 to 2032, film and video editor employment is expected to rise about 7%
I do not plan on pursuing any additional degrees in the future. It took me about 10 years to get to this point of me graduating with my Bachelors and I plan on embedding myself in the industry for the foreseeable future.
