Systemic features e.g. Fever, Lymphadenopathy

Non-Bullous Impetigo - Thin-walled Vesicles rupture quickly, forming Golden brown Crust. Common sites - Face, Limbs and Flexures (axillae). Buccal Mucosa may involve. Lesions asymptomatic pruritus /Erythema or no Erythema. Regional adenopathy. Systemic symptoms typically absent

Bullous Impetigo - Large, fragile, flaccid bullae, ruptures ooze yellow fluid. Affected sites face, flexures, trunk and limbs. Buccal mucosa involve. Regional lymphadenopathy rare.

Bullous Impetigo - Systemic symptoms e.g. Diarrhoea, Fever, Weakness or Lymphadenopathy.

Differential Diagnosis
Bacterial Skin Infection e.g. Cellulitis, Necrotising Fasciitis, Staphylococcal scaled skin syndrome and Erysipelas

Non-Infective Skin Conditions e.g. drug reaction, eczema, insect bites, burns/scalds, atopic or contact dermatitis
Management
Non-Bullous Impetigo

Refer/seek specialist advice if systemically unwell, Impetigo recurs frequently, if high risk of complications

Offer Fusidic cream, if resistant offer topical Mupirocin 2%
