Refer for routine Dermatology appointment if Eczema not controlled/ suspected contact dermatitis / treatment advice needed, recurrent secondary infection

Severe Infected Eczema

If inflamed skin - Potent topical Corticosteriod e.g. Betamethasone 0.1%. For delicate skin areas - moderate potency corticosteriod betamethasone 0.025% 5 days. Do not use potent on children under 12 months without specialist advice

If severe Eczema causing psychological distress - short course oral corticosteriod, 30mg prednisolone am only for 1 week. Refer children under 16yrs age
