our a clue leads us to a remote village populated by grung.
We know the next clue is in the grung’s temple, but the temple can only be opened by their priest - who is elsewhere on the island dealing with another task. They’ve not returned.
We track down the priest, help them with their predicament, and as a reward the priest allows us into the temple.
We are told the knowledge we seek is protected by the temple guardian, but after avoiding the temple’s traps and solving the puzzle therein, we come face-to-face with the priest again, who was the guardian all along.
