Our country's history and the continued occurence of school shootings in K-12 and higher education settings, has increased the conversation around gun control and more thorough background checks, that include mental illness checks. However, little to no change has happened to prevent the accessibility of guns, specifically the AR-15 assault riffles, that we commonly see used in school shooting incidents. Also, it can has happened in every educational setting (elementary, middle, high, and higher education)
