- ASSESS THE SITUATION - Quickly and calmly understand the nature of the
emergency.
- ENSURE SAFETY - Protect yourself and any casualties from danger.
- PREVENT CROSS-INFECTION - Take measures to prevent infection between yourself and the casualty.
- PROVIDE REASSURANCE - Comfort and reassure casualties at all times.
- ASSESS THE CASUALTY - Identify, as far as possible, the injury or illness affecting the casualty.
- PROVIDE EARLY TREATMENT - Treat the casualties with the most serious
conditions first.
- CALL FOR HELP - Arrange for appropriate medical assistance.
- STAY WITH THE CASUALTY - Remain with the casualty until professional help arrives.
