Manufacturing
Transport
Using product
Charging requires energy, often from non renewable energy sources
when tech is broken, it has to be replaced, this requires energy to fix
Raw materials
To take the raw materials into tech, this requires lots of energy.
transporting raw materials to manufacturer
transported finished product to consumer
transporting produced to LICs to be disposed of
disposal
E-waste is transported into different countries and disposed into lakes and river once they have gotten the useful thing out of them.
Holes get dug into the ground and filled with waste and then soil gets put over the top to disguise it.
Water is used in manufacturing, this water becomes contaminated and is often dumped in river.s
When e-waste is put into the ground the soil and water can get contaminated.
To get metals that are used for electronics such as cobalt, you have to get them from mines which uses water which can then become contaminated and then go into the river, polluting the river for life in the river.
To get the raw materials a lot of energy is used to transport the raw materials from mines to places where the materials are made into electronics.
lots of e waste is burned and releases green house gasses.
materials have to be heated to high temperature, eg sand to make glass, this contributes to global warming.
dig up land to place infrastructure, eg internet
