he wanted revenge and to make Germany pay
he wanted to cripple Germany so they could never troble Franch again
WW1 took place on french soil so wanted Germany to pay them for the damage
he wanted to break Germany into smaller states

wanted to punish Germany by not too harshly as wanted to trade with them
wanted Gerany to lose its navy as Britain had the best navy and did not want to lose that
he won the election by promising he would make Germany pay

he wanted a better and peaceful world
belived that Germany should be punish but not harshly as he wanted peace
wanted to strenghten democracy in order to stabilise Europe

Mitigation-get countries to talk things through
Moral condemnation-if Mitigation didn't work then the LON told the nations off
economic sanctiond-countries in the LON wouldn't trade with them
