Bivariate Data - Coggle Diagram

- - - - Population
        
        The whole group that is being studied. Example: you ask 100 randomly chosen people at a football match what their main job is. Your sample is 100, but the population is all the people at that match.
- - - - Definition. A bar chart is a way of showing the distribution of data with a discrete data set. Bar charts can be represented horizontally or vertically, they can also represent more than one set of data. One axis is labelled with the category/group and the other labelled with the frequency of the category/group.
    - - Definition. A box and whisker plot or diagram (otherwise known as a boxplot), is a graph summarising a set of data. The shape of the boxplot shows how the data is distributed and it also shows any outliers. It is a useful way to compare different sets of data as you can draw more than one boxplot per graph.
    - - A dot plot is a simple form of data visualization that consists of data points plotted as dots on a graph with an x- and y-axis. These types of charts are used to graphically depict certain data trends or groupings.
    - - A scatter plot (aka scatter chart, scatter graph) uses dots to represent values for two different numeric variables. The position of each dot on the horizontal and vertical axis indicates values for an individual data point. Scatter plots are used to observe relationships between variables.
    - - Definition. A histogram is a graphical representation of discrete or continuous data. The area of a bar in a histogram is equal to the frequency. The y -axis is plotted by frequency density (which is proportional to the frequency) and the x -axis is plotted with the range of values divided into intervals.
