Types of monitoring and assessment.
SHORT-TERM ACHIEVEMENT ASSESSMENT.
DIAGNOSTIC ASSESSMENT.
The purpose
:
find weaknesses
and gaps in learners’ knowledge and provide a remedy for them.
They are managed
before the course starts or sometimes during the course.
It's used to find what students know
Example:
These results, help the teacher know what teaching measures should to apply.
The purpose:
It can be applied daily or weekly.
Called "achievement assessment", since it examines course elements and skills.
It is best applied when clear performance objectives are aligned with
learning objectives
It consisting of 5 parts:
1-
Subject.
2-
The performance.
3-
The conditions.
4-
The measure.
5-
The criterion.
EXAMPLE:
(1) The students should be able to (2) quickly read and comprehend a 400 word text (3) containing only known vocabulary and constructions (5) at a speed greater than 150 words per minute and with at least 80 per cent comprehension (4) measured by nine four-item multiple choice questions.
