Anticipatory awareness

without good awareness an indiv will not make good progress in CRT, without seeing the problems they will not invest themselves fully in trying to overcome them and unlikely able to compensate through strategies
4 major components
Cerebellum
coordinates + refines impulses sent to muscles for precise/smooth movement, balance, language, info processing, memory
Cerebral Cortex
right hemisphere: spatial skills, left hemisphere: speech and language, reading, writing, calculation
Brain Stem
relay system, survival mechanisms, heartbeat, BP.
Sub-cortical structures
connectors that info travels along, memory, processing, metabolic, endocrine regulatory systems
4 lobes
Temporal
memory and language; interpreting senses (hearing, smell, taste)
Parietal
perception: processes sensory info, touch, arithmetic, spelling
Frontal
coordination and control: emotions, personality, behaviour, executive functions, voluntary muscle movement
