Spherical Mirrors
Concave Mirrors
Focal Length (f): f=+1/2R
- radius of curative R is the distance between center of curvature and mirror
-
- Ray 1: Initially parallel to the principal axis, pass through the focal point.
- Ray 2: Initially passes through the focal point, reflects parallel to the principal axis after hitting the mirror.
- Ray 3: Passes through the center of curvature

Convex Mirrors
-
- object and F/C on the oppsite side
- Ray 1: Initially parallel to the principal axis, reach mirror and reflect, then appear originate from the focal point on the other side
- Ray 2: Towards the focal point on the other side, then reflects parallel to the principal axis.
- Ray 3: Directed towards the center of curvature
