Five minute opening presentation. As many students can speak from each team as would like to. Teams proceed in the following order: Malpais, Exiles, Mond. Judge takes notes and shares them publicly during the activity.
Ten minute Q&A session with the judge, asking questions to whichever team he wants, and specifying which team member has to answer each question.
Two minute preparation period for all three teams simultaneously.
Three minute response speeches: each team has the opportunity to make a response to any aspect of the foregoing parts of the discussion. They can respond to the opening statement of another team, they can expand on a point that came up during the Q&A, they can introduce a new point.

Five minute closing speeches -- last opportunity to make case, to reply to attacks, etc.
