Economic problems
There were economic divisions because the majority of peasants lived in the south. Thus, there was immense poverty in the south and an industrialized north prospering.
Economic issues were compounded by the Italian - Turkish War.
Because of their geographical position, Italy lacked of resources. Their economy was focused on agriculture products.
Political problems

Limited Franchise
It was limited to the wealthy elites.
Corrup government
The liberal governments before WW1, were known as corrupt ones that represented the needs of. middle and upper class people.
Conflicting foreign policy ambitions
As the allies didn't gave the territory they promised, they invade the territory so they could take it.
Deep divisions
There were political divisions bewteen the north and the south Italy.
Allies did not fulfill the Treaty of London because they promised territories and they didn´t gave it.
Catholic Church
There were breakdown in relations between the Catholic Church and the State.
Vatican´s made Catholics not to vote and only a small amount of people had the right to vote.
Helped nationalist and fascist movement rise in power.
Mussolini´s phrase "obedience not discussion". This was a very authoritarian government which meant that had power over all aspects.
Social problems
Italy after the unification in 1870 they were still divided geographical, religious and social lines. This weakend Italian government and it make easier for Mussolini to rise his power and party.
Lack of national identity. It was coherent because they have just unified and people were more identified with their regions instead of Italy like "one country".
There were breakdown in relations between the Catholic Church and the State. This made conflicts between Liberals and Catholics.
The middle and upper class people dominated the political system.
People felt betrayed and were unhappy because the allies did not fulfill the Treaty of London
