      - Music accompany poetry and theatre place. It was so important that musician competitions were held.
      - Music, gymnastics and filosophy achieved the integral formation of the person.
    - - Scholars designed rules for composing and playing music such as Pythagoras.
      - Two important concepts
        
        Tetrachord: The tetrachord are groupes of four notes separated by three intervals that could be combined in many ways.
        
        The division of the scale of musical notes: Using a string and dividing it into many different sections they discovered how to play the different musical notes.
    - - How was it: Music notation, literary references and archeological remains.
      - "Music" = Mousiké (greek word = the art of the muses)
      - Functions: Entertainment and religious ceremonies.

    - - Compositions haven´t endured so we don´t know their music notation.

      - They had a lot of instruments.
  - - - Religious worship: So they had gods specifically associated with music.
    - - Wind: Flutes, Trumpets.
      - String: Lyres, Lutes
      - Percussion: Rattles, Sistrum.
    - - Music formed an important part of egyptian life, and musicians occupied a variety of positions in egyptian society.
      - Music had place into many contexts: Temples, Farms, Battlefields...
