D.T NEA-education toys and games
Why?/ interests me
I believe that mobile devices that entice kids to play games, are wasting their childhood by making these games so they play for hours on end killing their eyesight and making them reliant on these devices and the small amount of dopamine that keeps them addicted.
-Sports and games in the younger generations are becoming less and less popular due to these kids staying on sides playing online games and staring at blue light for hours and participating in games/sports so if they could still play game type sports like manhunt and golf both of which are popular games for kids and adults. However manhunt is more a kids game.
-NHS in recent years has seen a 1.1% increase since 2014 in childhood obesity and the BBC reported that in 1993 the amount of people aged 16 and below who are overweight, obese and morbidly obese was 54% and has now increased in 2017 to 69% a 15% increase in 23 years which is a lot and shows how since technology has developed obesity has increased

choking hazard or potential danger when using the game due to the pieces being small enough to choke
durability of the product- are the materials durable, tough and or hard to make sure they don't snap break of scratch effecting the quality
make sure no pieces are lost so they game can still function- incorporate a zip lock bag or compartment in the box for the pieces to ensure the game can still be enjoyed
most educational toys and games made are not interactive or fun for the child and are a monotonous experience due to little to no stimulation and do not attract a child to the game or entice them
the cost of production or the cost of purchasing the product could be an issue due to the desire of making a product cheaper but still setting the price at an affordable point for the customer to ensure more sales and not a very increased price
a variety of different learning points or possibly teamwork and skill
tasks linked to the context
repetition on the same experience to ensure adequate development for the child or the age group intended so arithmetic, English, science or another language
when they play with toys they need to be entertained whilst learning otherwise the repeated process will get boring and the age group intended won't learn anything
in the creation of the game will it be cost effective and or eco-friendly/sustainable for the environment. Will recycled or renewable materials be used in production.
If my game includes small objects or easily lost pieces they need to be properly stored
It needs to be tested and be made sure that kids enjoy it and don't find it a chore or monotonous process
Who is linked to the tasks
children when making an educational game to help them progress and learn basic problems and subjects within school
Intellectual game for the elderly to help them and socialize due to the elderly often being lonely so socializing nd enjoying and educational game could be beneficial to them
Teenagers love their phones and electric devices so making a toy or game that entices them to learn will be good to help avoid the neck strain from looking at their phones constantly
Lots of adults find everyday life quite mundane so something relaxing would benefit them mentally

board games
Will I change the current concepts of existing games to make them more educational and entertaining for the age group intended
Age
Is the game made for those who are developing their brain like toddlers and children in primary school or will it be something enjoyable for the elderly.
Chosen Area
My chosen area is to create or rather recreate an all ready existing board game or rather a similar concept of one and make it more enjoyable and more educational for the intended age category which for me is children due to my concerns of children spending too much time Infront of blue lights i.e. phones, tablets and computers and have them find a more educational and more enriching experience in the game i create to solve the problem of children's boredom whilst learning and seeing it more like a monotonous and mundane task rather than something to look forward to
