        Don't continue to push the product or service even after the customer has clearly indicated they are not interested or need more time.
        
        Don't use guilt tactics to make the customer feel like they wasted your time.
        
        Avoid making assumptions. Doing so doesn't allow sales associates to better understand and meet the individual needs of each customer, which would have led to more personalized recommendations and a more positive shopping experience overall.
