Gold also suggests luxury as pure gold is very expensive so
when there is a strip of gold it can be represented as expensive but also good quality.
Dark green and a light blue can be linked to gems such as
emerald and sapphire so the chocolate could also be like a hidden gem inside the packaging.
Silver can also be seen as a luxury colour because it is similar to gold as it is a an expensive metal. It is also shiny so when light is reflected on it, it will stand out amongst the crowds.
Other luxury colours are: black, white and red as they are all simple but effective for a high end brand.
Colours are important as it needs to attracts the target audience and makes the product stand out. It also reflects what the brand is promoting and what type of area it is (such as cheap, luxury or simple).
logo/ images
Logos and images on the packaging are important as they represent the company. A logos aim is to make it known so when it is seen the brand is quickly recognized.
For a luxury feel about the brand the logo should be simplistic and not include many colours as that can look messy and be too childish. The colours which would be good to include would be gold and silver as they reflect luxury from the other uses of those colours. I could also include: white, black, navy blue or emerald green.
-
fonts
The fonts should be fancy so it reflects what the brand is and attracts the correct target audience for the chocolate which is adults who like luxury.
I will not be using simple or fun fonts because it will attract the wrong target audience and make the brand seem less luxurious and fancy because of the simplicity of it.
The font is important as it reflects the brand from the first look at the writing and it shows the audience what kind of brand it is and what type of target audience it wants to attract.
what is visual identity
Visual identity is the elements which represent a brand. This could include the colours, fonts and logo.
A good visual identity is something which stands out which could be reached using bright colours or unique logos so it can be seen brighter in a crowd of other brands within the same business ideas or similar companies.

packaging
High end chocolate brands typically have basic but effective packaging. They usually use one colour only throughout the whole of the packaging which will set the mood for the chocolate. The colours are usually colours which represent luxury so it will pop out to the target audience as a luxury high end brand however not all has bright colours as sometimes bright colours can look less appealing and as if the brand is trying to reach out to children instead. Most packaging does not include much writing on the front so it is appealing and doesn't overwhelm the target audience and it may put them off from buying it.

scenario
I have to create a visual identity for a high end chocolate brand (chocoindulgence). The target audience I will be producing it to reach is adults who like a luxury lifestyle. There should be an effective slogan which will be presented over the lid of the packaging which I will be creating.
slogan
A slogan is important because it explains the brand in just a few words. A slogan should be simple but very effective so it can keep the target audience thinking about the brand.
