Feedback from AT1
Contextualize tasks through contrasting my ideas in comparison to previous research and pedagogies' ideas
-

-
Examples for CBI
to build upon the background knowledge of the students, to then use as scaffolding and keep in ZPD (walqui etc.)
-
-
-
Explicitly mentioning teacher modeled SRLs - WALT, TIB, WILF - Brainstorming in planning phases, overcoming obstacles through use of tools such as dictionaries, Reflection on work - create and authentic task to teach these as well in the plan.
Scaffolding in terms or background knowledge, cultural backgrounds, word walls, visual aids, and graphic organisers.

-
Action research rationale, first para good - include it - I can unpack the critical action research bs as well
-
Exit tickets + collection of student artefacts good - connect with Mike saying, give immediate feedback if possible then use these artefacts to inform intervention support required.
Excellent explanation of how to approach meaningful data collection - Skilling et al. Csikzentmihalyi's flow

Key Aims of AT2
-
-
Research design
Collect diagnostic data through previous grades in subject areas, FNP and running record data.
Collect qualitative data through observational checklists, exit tickets and student artefacts.
-
Exit tickets will provide evidence of engagement as well as strengths and weaknesses in comprehension of content.
-
Student artefacts and conferences regarding feedback will indicate what intervention should be provided
This will be done through the creation of authentic tasks that students will complete to not only increase student outcomes through TBLT but engagement through CBI
-
Thesis: EAL/D student engagement is low due to their lower linguistic ability being a barrier to meaningfully participate in classroom activities. Through utilisation of TBLT, authentic tasks that relate to students' cultural background knowledge, strengths and weaknesses will be developed through the collection of data. This data will inform the teacher-researcher on the content that students will learn through CBI and TBLT.
