One clear example of income inequality is the huge difference in pay between CEOs and regular workers. In 2022, CEOs in the US earned 344 times more than the average worker, compared to 21 times more in 1965.
In India, the gap between the rich and the poor has grown a lot under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The richest 1% now own 40% of the country's wealth. This growing inequality has mostly hurt the middle class.
