Responsibilities
Food Safety and Hygiene
Inspect food premises, including restaurants, supermarkets, and food processing plants, to ensure compliance with health and hygiene standards.
Monitor food handling, preparation, and storage practices to prevent foodborne illnesses.
Conduct food safety training for food handlers.
Water Quality Monitoring
Test and analyze drinking water sources to ensure they meet safety standards.
Investigate and respond to complaints about water quality.
Monitor wastewater treatment and disposal to prevent contamination of water sources.
Waste Management:
Oversee the collection, transportation, and disposal of solid and hazardous waste.
Inspect waste management facilities to ensure compliance with regulations.
Promote recycling and waste reduction initiatives.
Vector Control:
Implement and manage programs to control disease vectors such as mosquitoes, rats, and other pests.
Conduct inspections and provide guidance on pest control measures.
Educate communities about preventing vector-borne diseases.
Air Quality Management

Collaborate with schools, businesses, and other organizations to promote environmental health.
Health Surveillance and Disease Control:
Monitor and investigate outbreaks of infectious diseases.
Collect and analyze data to identify trends and potential health risks.
Implement control measures and provide public health advice during disease outbreaks.
Housing and Living Conditions:
Inspect housing conditions to ensure they meet health and safety standards.
Address issues such as overcrowding, inadequate ventilation, and sanitation
Advocate for improvements in living conditions, particularly in disadvantaged communities.
Policy Development and Implementation:
