History begin
Ben Tre coconut candy originates from Mo Cay district. According to collected documents, the first person to make candy was Mrs. Nguyen Thi Ngoc, born in 1914, residing in Mo Cay district.

include: coconut milk, malt, sugar (in the past people used barrel sugar but today they use granulated sugar).
Process of making coconut candy
To make delicious candy, choosing ingredients is very important. The sticky rice used to make malt must be good sticky rice, with large grains that are evenly cooked.
Select dried coconuts that have just been picked "golden tan". Because this newly dried coconut has a unique flavor, the juice is sweet. Sugar for making candy must be new and bright yellow in color.
Next, use a coconut peeler, take the coconut meat and put it in a small blender. Put all the pureed coconut meat in a bag and use a juicer to get the coconut milk.
Afterwward, Put everything in a pan and put it on the stove, stirring continuously.
When the juice concentrates and changes color, it is placed on a mold that has been lubricated with a layer of coconut oil to prevent sticking. Use a knife to cut into parts according to the predetermined size.
