Application Timeline: No formal timeframe for submitting an asylum application. It can be made orally in the asylum seeker's language with a cultural mediator.
Asylum seekers should apply as soon as possible, with a general rule of presenting to authorities within 8 days of arrival.
How to Apply:
Applications can be made at the Border Immigration Police Office or the Provincial Immigration Office, where fingerprints and photographs are taken.
Decision Process. After application, documents are sent to the **Territorial Commissions**
The asylum seeker is informed of a formal interview date An interview is conducted within 30 days of application receipt.
The Commission must decide within 3 working days after the interview if delayed, the decision process concludes within 6 months.
