        it is constantly remarked how good-looking and handsome he is, even though he drinks a lot. he used to be a professional athlete and had a spinal injury which left his dream crushed

        Maggie, shows that perhaps he doesn't like woman, innuendos, hints that he is gay
      - Stage directions such as: wryly, without interest, absently, to show how disinterest he is in Maggie and whatever she has to say

    - - "She is a short stout woman; her sixty years and 170 pounds have left her somewhat breathless most of the time"

  - - - she transfers her ideas to her children. this is seen when dixie appears and has a brief interaction with maggie and brick, in which she leaves saying "you're jealous!-- You're just jealous because you can't have babies
  - - - maggie in the past had to him "SKIPPER! STOP LOVING MY HUSBAND OR TELL HIM HE'S GOT TO LET YOU ADMIT IT TO HIM!"

        This is a funny event after a very tense moment. It is used to detigt the atmosphere and make the audience laugh, specially since itis a little kid the one commiting the action.
      - Big Mama interrupting Maggie as she seduces/fights with Brick
  - - - Brick is an alcoholic and constantly goes back to it to refill his drink
    - - Symbol of support
        
        Brick always has it as he has always had support (money and his family), so even though he is broken, he has a crutch
        
        Maggie doesn't have a crutch and even says how she's reached a "good" life without it.
        "I've been so God damn disgustingly poor all my life! (...) Always had to suck up people I couldn't stand because they had money and I was poor as Job's turkey. You don't know what that's like. Well, I'll tell you, it's like you would feel a thousand miles away from Echo Spring! --And had to get back to it on that broken ankle... without a crutch!"
    - - the bed is in the center of the room to enphasize on how Brick and Maggie were together but we quickly learn how they had no sorts of sexual intercourse
